My name is Roy. I've been a Mobile Nations member since 2013. I cut the cord, along with my family, a little over a year ago in March of 2017. I'm a fan of much that Mobile Nations puts out, but I found this site through Phil, aka Modern Dad.

My family & I have enjoyed having cut the cord so far. We've been with Playstation Vue, and are really happy with the mix of service and value. I've used a variety of hardware, including boxes, sticks, and smart TVs. Currently the Shield TV is my favorite, and it has the main slot on the Living Room TV.

I look forward to popping in and out of the forums here, and excited to see the site grow. Let me know how I can contribute.

Welcome Roy! I’ve cut also. I’m primarily using DirecTV Now on a 3 month trial. We’ll see after that. My favorite box is the Fire TV second generation, which is the one with Ethernet, an SD slot and a USB slot.

Hi pkcable. I think having Ethernet is an important but overlooked way to improve cord cutting experiences dramatically. It's not always possible, or easy, for people, but my Shield TV streams MUCH faster when I got it wired to the router. I have a friend who runs network wire professionally, and I hope to get his help to wire other rooms, like the bedrooms & basement, in the future.

    Hello there @royd21.

We've recently cut the cord and now only have internet with Spectrum. We have 4 Apply TV's in the house with Netflix (free with our Tmobile account), Amazon Prime and YouTube TV. So far everything's working great.

I'm new here too! Welcome to us all! I'm happy to have cut the cord as well. I find it more convenient.
