    Hey everyone ...

    Not only am I an Android fan, I am a fan of cord cutting.

    I finally cut the cord about five months ago to reduce costs and it was the best move I have made in years.

    I am finally putting a partial data dent in the high priced cable internet I have been paying for, and I have cut out 3/4 of the junk channels on DirecTV and went with DirecTV Now. It is not as convenient as just grabbing the remote, but every device can be your remote, so you adapt quickly.

    I plan on moving to another state within the next two months. Depending on what Internet I get and what streaming package is available, I will decide if I stick with DirecTV Now.

    Kind of irritated that a company as large of AT&T can't get the DVR program rolling. The Beta program is not good. I have yet to stream a program to my TV and almost nothing gets recorded.

    I have been looking at Sling. We will see. A couple of weeks ago the entire DirecTV Now system went down and I had to do a lot of screaming to get a phone number to actually speak with someone.

    We have played a bit of phone tag but I am going to contact the rep who called me and ask him straight up what is happening with the DVR service. I will come back here and let you know what he says.

    I have DirecTV Now, HBO, STARZ, Netflix and Prime Videos. I have DirecTV Now's smallest package. All this for about a third of the price of just my old DirecTV with all the movie channels.

    That said, I am single so some might need to get a larger package or depending on the provider additional screens or even more data from the Internet provider. I cast everything from any of my devices to a number of Google Chromecast toggles. I have one for every TV.

    Yeah, and DTVN is really buggy on Chromecast. It's a lot more stable on Roku.

    The beta app is now the only option on my Android phone, and just like the beta app on Chrome, it buffers nonstop while trying to stream. So for the moment, I have to hope they do not remove the original app on Chrome or I am done with DTVN. I am close to being done with DTVN right now. I was hoping to not make any changes until I move in the next few months, but I will have no choice if the non beta app is removed from Chrome because I will be unable to stream.

    I don't have buffering issues on Android with the new app, but I have always had issues with the Roku app.

    Hey there, @skatergirl, and welcome to Cord Cutters.

    We did the same thing about 6 weeks ago, but we went with YouTube TV as it had CBS and that's a required station in this house (Big Bang Theory). We're also an all Apple household and so far the YTTV app has worked flawlessly and no buffering.

    We also looked at Sling, Huhu, etc., but couldn't find anything that fit our needs. We also have Netflix (free with Tmobile One plan) and Amazon movies and music with our Prime membership, so I think we have everything we need.

    Glad to see you are still enjoying being "cord free".
