I've been a Netflix user for many many years. Since their very early DVD days. Am I just feeling nostalgic, or has Netflix abandoned the older genres?
Used to they almost every film you could want. Today I looked up some older movies and stars and nothing came up. I entered 1960s and 8 movies came up. 4 were from India. I entered 1970s and 17 movies came up and 8 were from India. I searched for "westerns" and it was a low and poor selection for the most part. Actors and actresses like John Wayne, Steve McQueen, Clint Eastwood, Mel Gibson, Frank Sinatra, Shirley McLean, Rita Hayworth, Bette Davis, Marilyn Monroe, and so many others are no longer there.

I have a Roku and there are some older movie channels, but they seem to all go the other way 1930s-1950s. That's a good thing but it seems the 1960s-1980s have been scrubbed.

I guess I'm just feeling like watching movies from the past, and evidently not so many others are. Thanks for letting me vent. Does anyone else feel the same?

Yea I get that nostalgic feeling sometimes. For me it was old horror movies from the 50ies. I used to watch them on TV in the 70ies when I was a kid. I used to watch a show called Creature Double Feature, that showed 2 such movies every Saturday! It's just so hard to find those old movies anymore although the other day I found "The Colossal Man" on YouTube.

I have had a similar feeling about Netflix... it's content of late seems to be geared more to millennials. I don't use it as much as Hulu, and I think it's "layout" is not very intuitive.

Hate to say it but Amazon Prime has really stepped up with old movies lately.

I was just on Netflix and realized that I need to add another gift card. My account is on hold. What to do, what to do? I think I'm going to lobby for YouTube TV!
