Ok, well not in every situation, but in most, I actually prefer Spectrum over FiOS.

I moved last year from NJ to a new home in South Carolina. Where I am we had two choices, Spectrum (was Time Warner Cable when I moved) or Windstream. In comparing the plans, I noticed Windstream had slower options and less of them overall.

Working from home, I opted for the faster internet connection and currently pay $64.99 for 100/10. I wish the upload speeds were better, but I rarely upload content. I love not having data caps, and it's super easy to grab your own modem / router and use them without worry they won't work with Verizon's FiOS network.

The pricing is better than FiOS, the service has been more reliable, and being able to not rent my equipment is great.

I just moved from Lincoln, Nebraska. Same choices (I also worked for Windstream for a while). As part of the TWC/Charter merger, they had to agree to no Comcast-style caps to get it through. +1

I would also be a bit leery if Windstream gets Kinetic in your area. Until the beginning of this year, the best they could do at my old place was 15/2, where I had bonded DSL with them at 24/4.

Welcome to SC. We have the best kind of winter weather :

    Here today, gone today

I'm also using the $64.99 100/10 Spectrum internet. Love the download speeds, especially when I'm working and my son is on his PS4.

I tried AT&T U-Verse for 8 months from June 2017 to Jan 2018. Horrible service. Had to have a technician in 3 times. Had to call customer service a few times on the phone as well. They replaced the modem, ran a new wire etc. Went back to Spectrum (originally TWC) and not one issue since hooking the service up (I did it myself and had to undo the garbage cabling the AT&T guy did). I am paying $45 for 60/100 but I am getting close to 100/20 when I run a speed test. Very happy with the service so far.

FTR I pay FIOS 39.95 a month for 100/100. It’s an online only special, you must order online and you must cancel your old FIOS service first IF you have it. All in I’m at 57 dollars, modem rental and extra fees included.

Is that a forever price, or their 12 or 24 month specialty thing that they love to do?

Not forever but my promo does not have an expiration date. But yes it's a promo rate.

I need to start looking at alternatives to Fios in my area just to get costs down. May have to play the game with hopping around for promo rates.
