Is it worth investing in any OTA hardware today (6/2018) when all currently manufactured hardware has ATSC 1 tuners which will be obsolete in the not too distant future (2020?). With the implementation of ATSC 3 (which is NOT backwards compatible) will obsolete ALL currently manufactured hardware with ATSC 1 tuners, it may not be smart to purchase any hardware with an ATSC 1 tuner built in. The best of the best is the TIVO Romio OTA but not at $400 when its tuners will have nothing to receive when broadcasters begin transmitting ATSC 3. Even the more affordable HD Home Run Quatro @ $200 is questionable when it will not function. Should I wait or spend the $, knowing eventually it won't work?

    I came across these:

ATSC 3.0: Where We Stand — ATSC

ATSC 3.0: The future of free antenna TV is coming, eventually - CNET
