Ok I got a 3 month trial of DirecTV Now, and I'm loving it. Good selection and good quality picture, BUT I really miss my DVR. I have heard that they have a beta version which DOES have it, but alas I couldn't get in as they are full at this time. I was wondering if anyone has seen it and can comment of it's functional. PLEASE be mindful of any NDAs you may have signed. It's probably ok to talk in general terms, BUT if in doubt, check OR don't tell me. lol

I have a feeling it won't be as good as Comcast or FIOS, BUT it got to be better than my Roku TV DVR or my Converter Box DVR. Pretty much the only things I can do is pause live TV, OR schedule a "taping" and then PRAY it comes out ok, and you can't really keep more than a couple shows due to space and poor labeling. Hopefully DirecTV Now will get it right!

I did the same. Got the 3 month deal and received an Apply TV. I really thought is was going to work for us but it turns out no CBS in our area and we all watch Big Bang Theory. Other than that, I thought it was a really great deal for the price.

As a former AT&T employee, there is work on a Windows 10/Xbox One client that was going on, but I'm not aware of the DVR beta going live. Since I've been paying for it since day 1...... LOL

I’ve been running the beta on iOS and tvOS for about six months now. It’s gone from completely useless to pretty dependable during that time. I’d still like to see additional functionality added to DVR. For instance, customizable recording limits, like what Xfinity offers, would be great. Currently you can choose to either record a single episode or record an entire series. The problem is it will record every single episode. For some shows that run a lot of episodes that will quickly kill your available DVR storage.

For me, this beta app is horrible. Buffers the entire time trying to stream to the TV. And now this beta app is all that is available for Android, so the only devices I can use now to stream to the TV are those with the old app on Chrome. I will most likely be leaving DTVN.

Hi ... wanted to share an update.

Received an email yesterday from DTVN with instruction to delete the DTVN app and reinstall it now that it is "live."

I reinstalled the app and so far no buffering while streaming to the TV.

That said, DVR programming still is not streaming to the TV, whether it be from my phone or my computer. That needs to be fixed in order for me to stay with DTVN.
