One friend at work asked how does DTVNOW determine your local area? He lives in one county, but keeps a PO Box in another. The billing address county is in an area that does not have locals on the service, but the other address does. If he signs up, what do they need to determine his address for locals? Can he just put in the physical and be good to go, or do they need proof? All of his billing statements go to the PO Box in the other county (which, as stated, does not offer any DTVNOW locals at present).

That is a good question. I think you need to check with DirecTV on it. I suspect its based on your physical address, but maybe they require proof when it deviates from your billing address.

I dumped DTVN because the locals didn't work for me after their 2.0 update. I am in OH close to PA border. I was not getting the oh fox regional sports even though they were listed in the guide. When tuning to them I would get out area notices. The Pittsburgh locals would show up in the guide which I was not supposed to get. The out of area notice would come to when trying to tune them. This experience transcended all TV devices. Apple Tv, FireTV and roku. The only device that worked as expected were phones with real GPS.

The worst part was contacting support and getting nowhere with them. locals
