I just found out about this great, free service called locast.org. They have apps for many/most streaming platforms. IF they are available in your town, then you can watch your locals through one of their apps. While they DO take donations, the service is 100% free!

And a good companion app is

This gives you DVR access to Locast (and also to many TV subscription programs) for only 5 per month. You add locast to it for your locals, then you can use your logins for Philo, Fubo, Dish, Comcast, etc for access to more channels. This app can combine all your subs in to one with it's free version, or you can pay 5 per month for the DVR.
